"Are you willing to forget what you have done for other people, and to remember what other people have done for you ... to remember the weakness and loneliness of people who are growing old... Are you willing to believe that love is the strongest thing in the world...stronger than hate, stronger than evil, stronger than death...Then you can keep Christmas! But you can never keep it alone.~Henry van Dyke"

Oil Painting

Has not been doing photography for a long time, ever since I started my class. My schedule? Monday to Friday working, Friday to Sunday classes with loads of assignments and presentations....but I love the things I am doing. Really enjoy it; no doubt deep inside been missing someone more lately :(....it's alright, I can handle it.

I just can't stop myself from doing something, I am now into painting (more to abstract). It's fun and exciting seeing the result :)....but there still lots more to learn and to explore. This is one of the best thing to do when my time is limited to let me explore the nature (photography).

To my relief, I am not that bad though....hehehe start praising myself again. Well, so far I am happy with my work. It's amazing to see myself doing something I left behind many years ago. Something I don't understand, what made me left my passions behind? But it does not matter anymore.....

Seasons Greetings

This Christmas card specially made for a friend. It's a nice feeling meeting an old friends, I thought I would never see my childhood friends but by God's grace we met up last year during my cousin's wedding. Wow, after 20 years we are in contact again, she never change, still sweet and beautiful.

For this card; I use green, silver and red ribbons, whereas for the angels and maple leaves I use the decorative punches. I added some colours and glitters on the maple leaves, I choose glitter paper for the angels where you can get from the craft or stationary shops.

Oil Painting

Happy Sunday. What a beautiful morning? Birds chirping, calm weather, fresh morning air......hmmmm. Miss my hometown, miss someone I love dearly & miss everyone dear to me....Not to forget miss the Street Fair (Gaya Street) which held in Kota Kinabalu every Sunday, many interesting things can be found there such as pearls, orchids, pets, accessories, foods, antiques etc...the morning wet market, I can imagine the crowds, the fishing boats coming back from the sea with their fresh catches as early as 4:00am. Watching the sunrise and the glimpse of Mount Kinabalu, the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park comprising Gaya Island, Sapi Island, Manukan Island, Mamutik Island and Sulug Island where I can spend the whole day hopping from one island to another, it only takes about 10-20 minutes by speedboat ride from the city of Kota Kinabalu, where you can enjoy the shallow waters, the beautiful coral gardens or just lay down on the white sandy beaches. Miss those days.
Need to go back to reality now, this is my Sunday post, an oil painting (Lukisan Cat Minyak) before I go for class. Urmmm favourite subjects Arts & Physicals but I don't like presentations, I have presentations for both subjects urrgghh ;p...Have a pleasant day.

Happy weekend to all, another week gone. Holiday mood on the way :)...Just want to share some painting I did few days ago. I have not put any title yet. Selection of colours i.e. silver, yellow and brown. A little bit of red for the marbling background. I love the texture and simplicity of it. Feel free to give title for this painting. Appreciate it.
Have a great week ahead, ciao :)

'Paper Marbling Art or 'Teknik Pualaman' in Malay'. Another crave :-p....I am always interested with new things. Art gives the opportunity to explore and play with the colours and textures, it lets us express ourselves on papers, canvas etc.. This is very exciting and I fell in love with it, a zillion appreciation to my lecturer. There still a long way to go in order to learn the marbling art techniques, looks easy but not as easy as we think. Patience, effort & desire is the main key in order to master the technique.
I love to watch the 'Art of Marbling-Ebru' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Z0_b9f9b8s&feature=player_embedded#!) it is wonderful  .....
I believe that everyone can learn & it's never too late,  knowledge has no age barrier & nothing is impossible unless we give up.

The above pieces is specially made for someone I care & dear to me.
Will post more soon :)

This is one of my art assignment using water colour. Haven't been doing any painting for many many years ;) ....i just want to share the fun :)....not so so beautiful painting but it's the effort & the love of doing something that matters.
Wish everyone a good day ahead.

Hidden Treasure

Happy Sunday, a beautiful day, nice weather over here....just want to share some of my photo. My mushroom & I :)..... If I remembered correctly this was taken at FRIM over a year ago. A nice place to bring over your family for picnic, cycling, hiking & not to forget they do offer canopy walk which I haven't tried.
What I like about this picture? First of all I took it myself (praising myself ;p)....Nah, it was the first time I saw such a beautiful bunch of white mushroom. I can imagine how beautiful it is when it glows in the dark (but does it really glows?). Anywhere, I was lucky to find it since it was hidden between bushes, trees & dried leaves. Thanks to my curiosity & observant. Unfortunately I have no idea what type of mushroom is this? Maybe someone could help?

Hope

'HOPE' is the title. Of all work I've had done this is my favourite. In life we do have hope. Hope for success, hope for love, hope for the best, hope for everything, hope, hope, hope....we never fail for hoping. We deny but never realise we are hoping. Correct me if I am wrong ;p.....
Why do I name my art as 'HOPE'? In fact I never intended to create this. But as I go further, I saw I have created something interesting. Every living creatures has it's destiny. Earlier I wanted it to be just plain, make everything yellowish. I guess I was missing something. I must find way to make it alive....& I managed to solve it...it feels like 'rebirth'. Something worth for me to be proud about.
Satisfaction :)...'Life is beautiful'. Every single second passed is history, it will never come back but there is always beauty in it. Something we will never forget.

Roses

Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet but not as sweet as you......
Combination of red & yellow roses for my friend's birthday few months ago. A surprised gift for her. She loves orchid compared roses but seems hard to get, so i decided roses & that's it...heheheee.
Never thought of making one either. It was my first flower arrangement (to be precise 'my first bouquet arrangement'). I choose colourful wrapper (attracts me at the first glance), it looks fresh & lively. I am happy with the outcome but more practice needed....ehhheemmm. Will make more in future.

Fun with Handmade Card

Today's Friday, another week gone....mmmmnnnn. Wow 5 weeks towards X'mas, plus another week we'll celebrate 2011. Time flies.....Friday means relaxation, do things we enjoy. Ooops nah, class???...Oh ya it's study break, phewww, glad about it :)....I can spend my Saturday taking photographs then :). Haven't been doing photo-shoot for sometimes, miss the waterfalls, miss the nature so much.

Browsing through my archives, found this card which specially made for my friend Soops. Glad she loves it. It's a simple card, blank inside. Used the emboss kit for the edge. Instead of putting the earrings inside the box & wrap it, I did something different, fixed the eyelets on cardstock & let it hang. Results? I love it! Experimenting can be fun!

Oh oh my, forgot about Tasha, I still owe her one. Sorry dear, will send one to you soon :)....
Happy weekend to all! Ciao!

Craft is Fun

Hi all, it's me BB. This is my 1st post into my blog. Created this blog quite sometimes but never have had the chance to explore further. Nervous....hmmmm...nahh this could be very exciting :)
I like something different. I love the ideas of beautiful things...
Yes beautiful....how do we define beauty....complex huh....each of us sees beauty in a different angle, different manner. My first post is the paper bag which i made myself.
I love the combination of torn papers complimented with buttons.
I shall
say it's a nice gift packing, something different than the common gift wrapper. In addition, your personalise message can just slip it in front of the bag. Cool isn't it.
I'm still experimenting, SATISFACTION is my keyword.
